Ernie Haase & Signature Sound

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound

For over two decades, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound have been a leading force in Southern Gospel music, delivering songs of hope through rich four-part harmony. Founded in 2003 by tenor Ernie Haase—who previously gained prominence with the iconic Cathedral Quartet, Old Friends Quartet, and as a solo artist—the group has maintained a dynamic presence with consistent energy and innovation. The current lineup features founding members Ernie Haase (tenor) and Doug Anderson (lead/baritone), alongside Dustin Doyle (lead) and Christopher Taylor (bass), supported by pianist Tyler Vestal and bassist Wes Jones. They have topped Southern Gospel radio charts, earned four GRAMMY nominations, multiple Gold and Platinum DVDs, six GMA Dove Awards, and performed on prestigious stages like the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, NBA and NASCAR events, and Gaither Homecoming gatherings. Their bold ventures include the 2019 jazz-influenced holiday album A Jazzy Little Christmas, which charted on Billboard’s Jazz Albums and earned critical praise, and 2022’s Decades of Love, a collection of romantic standards.

The quartet has built a strong global footprint, performing in countries like South Africa, New Zealand, Romania, and the Netherlands—where they recorded their 2023 legacy project, Live in Amsterdam: A 20th Anniversary Celebration, featuring orchestral arrangements of beloved hits and personal favorites like “Oh, What A Savior” and “Jesus Changed Everything.” Haase’s mentorship extends beyond the stage through co-founding StowTown Records in 2011, a label supporting top Southern Gospel artists such as Booth Brothers, Triumphant Quartet, and Legacy Five, as well as launching its StowTown Worship imprint. Influenced by mentors like George Younce (his father-in-law) and Bill Gaither, whose encouragement helped launch their breakout hit “Get Away Jordan” and visual media success, the group emphasizes family-like bonds, grace, and forward momentum. Initiatives like the weekly “Friday Night Sing” virtual events and annual Fan Retreats have deepened fan connections, with Haase expressing optimism that their greatest impact lies ahead as they continue following their calling.
